Naisula Lesuuda had been a journalist and anchor at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation for year, specializing in human interest stories and especially those from her rural home in Samburu. Until one day, a story she had been sent to do in which over 40 of her community members had been killed in ongoing clashes made her realize she was doing little to help her community from the newsroom. Thrusting her into humanitarian activities and peace initiatives that have today propelled her to securing nomination as senator under through the TNA party. Evelyn Wambui spent time with a one time colleague and to explore how she hopes to use her new role to preach peace and empower not only her natives but youth across the country.
