A man arrested in Mombasa for masquerading as a woman says he is remorseful.
Mr Mohammed Mwanyoha blamed his actions on the ‘devil’.
Speaking to the Saturday Nation at King’orani prison in Mombasa County Friday after he was released, Mr Mwanyoha, a class seven drop out, confessed that he had acted as a woman for two months.
Mr Mwanyoha, who is nursing injuries he received after beatings from residents, insisted that he is not a homosexual.
“I am sorry for all those whom I offended in any way, but no one had a right to beat me,” said Mr Mwanyoha, who was released by a Mombasa court after paying Sh1,000 fine for nuisance.
He said he was once married but his wife deserted him.
“I was possessed by the devil but I have gone back to God and repented my sins,” he said.
“I pierced my ears three months ago. I feel bad. I do not know why I did it.
Men used to seduce me but I refused” said the Mwaluvamba, Kwale County resident.
He also blamed his former wife for his predicament.
