Video: Dr. Mutua unveils Machakos County ‘dream team’

Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua has unveiled his 11-member Cabinet.

However, the proposed members who include several women will have to be vetted and approved by the County Assembly. Briefing the Press at Mavoko Municipal Hall in Athi River town, Dr Mutua accompanied by his deputy Bernard Kiala, said the selection was based on professionalism and experience.

The Governor said Cabinet positions were shared equally among the eight constituencies in the county. ??He also said gender and minority status were considered in the selection. ?The nominees are Joshua Musili, (Energy, Environment and Natural Resources), Kioko Luka, (Transport, Roads and Public Works), Naomi Mutie, (Health and Emergency services), Francis Maliti, (Water and Sanitation), Dr Sunir Kumar Dhal, (Trade, Economic, Planning and Industrialisation), Hellen Kiilu, (Decentralised Units, Urban Areas and Municipalities), Ruth Nduku Mutua, (Education, Youth and Social Welfare), Faith Kithu (Tourism and Culture) and Larry Wambua (Agriculture, Livestock and Co-operative Development).?The deputy Governor will be in charge of Public Service, Labour, Information Communications and Technology (ICT).

The nominees for the Finance docket are yet to be named as they are waiting vetting by Mutua’s office.
