Real estate developer Sultan Palace Development Limited is re-modeling a 43-acre beach retreat in Kikambala, Kilifi County, into a fun-filled family holiday paradise.
The plan is to help fill the gaping hole in the Kenyan market for coastal holiday facilities targeting both adults and children.
For despite the billions of shillings of investment in beachfront holiday destinations at the Kenyan coast, vacationers have to make additional, long trips to different and far-off locations away to access entertainment facilities to spice up the holiday for everyone in the family.
“It is a harsh reality that most of the holiday spots at the Coast do not provide the all-under-one-roof destination where children can play and have fun while also keeping the adults entertained without the need to travel for hours from where they are staying,” said Liu Tiancai, general manager, Sultan Palace.
The project has transformed the 700-metres of a sandy beach front into a luxury resort, comprising villas, condos and beach houses, for the family in search of the ideal holiday at the coast.
It will feature a 1,000 square-metre waterpark – making it the largest waterpark in the country – comprising water play areas with water slides, tunnels, splash pads and lazy rivers designed to enable children to have active fun with an element of adventure.
There will also be three swimming pools adjacent to the waterpark. To keep the young ones entertained off the water, the beach retreat will feature a kids’ club with a play area and kids’ café. There will also be a kid’s games room for video gaming and a creative area for children who prefer activities such as painting and drawing.
Adults can enjoy The Souk, a residents club that is the heart and soul of the beach retreat and features a host of the best leisure facilities— a clubhouse, a well-equipped gym, games room, a luxury health spa, and a restaurant.
The first phase comprises exclusive villas of 400 square metres, beach houses of 230 square metres and executive condos ranging between 80 and 170 sqm . A five-star hotel will be established in the second phase of the development.
