Police in Naivasha arrest KDF imposter, military attire and fake ID recovered

Police arrest a suspect who has been posing as a senior army officer in Naivasha town for the last one year

Police in Naivasha are holding a suspect who was found posing as a senior officer with the Kenya Defence Forces ( KDF).

The officers managed to recover several military gear in the suspects house in Kabati estate after a tip off from members of the public.

The officers were let in shock after it emerged that the suspect was married to prison warder from the Naivasha G.K prison.

The incident comes barely a fortnight after another suspect was arrested in Gilgil with assorted KDF gear in his house.

In the latest incident, a middle aged man was arrested in his house after allegedly fleecing members of the public that he was a senior army officer.

Recovered from his houses were military attire and a picture album where he is pictured in various army uniforms and guns.

A source privy to the investigations said that the officers were investigating the source of the uniforms and the guns captured in various pictures.

“The suspect is married to a prison warder and we are investigating how the wife never suspected that the husband was a con,” said the source.

Naivasha OCPD Charles Kortok confirmed the incident adding that investigations had started and the suspect would be arraigned in court.

He said that they suspected that the man was behind cases of robbery along banks in Naivasha town which targeted women and the old.

“The suspect shall be arraigned in court facing various charges and we thank members of the public for the tip off,” he said.
