Security at the Murangâ€™a governorâ€™s office has been heightened after an armed man stormed the office and threatened the secretary.
The incident occurred on Monday at around 7:00 pm while both governor Mwangi wa Iria and his Deputy Mr Gakure Monyo were in the office.
The man, in a jungle jacket, is said to have jumped over the fence behind the parking area and went straight to the .
He stormed into the secretaryâ€™s office claiming that her husband was having an affair with his wife.
The man then threatened the secretary warning of dire consequences should her husband continue with the relationship.
According to Murangâ€™a North police boss Christopher Mshimba, the secretary reported the matter to the police at around 8:00 pm and police have launched investigations.
The OCPD denied claims that the man was targeting the governor and his deputy.
â€œThe secretary reported that the man warned her about an extra marital affair between her husband and the strangerâ€™s wife,â€ Mr Mshimba said on Tuesday.
â€œWe have launched investigations to establish the existence of the stranger whom the secretary claimed was armed with a gun,â€ he added.
Meanwhile, a family in Kangema discovered the decomposing body of a man inside the familyâ€™s water tank.
The family of Mrs Nancy Wanjiku Mwangi is in shock as they had been drinking the water for one week unaware of the body.
According to neighbours, the deceased, identified as Mr Stephen Karore, 36, is suspected to have committed suicide by drowning himself inside his neighbourâ€™s tank in Kahuti village.
