Police are investigating an accident involving a pedestrian at Capital Boulevard and Trawick Road in Raleigh that left a woman dead.
Officers said it happened just before 7 a.m. Thursday.
Cornelia Olero Amissah, 64, was declared dead at the scene.
Investigators said it appears the woman was struck by multiple vehicles, only one of which remained at the scene.
One of the vehicles that left the area prior to the arrival of officers was described as a small, light-colored sedan.
