EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF KENYA WASHINGTON, D.C.
July 11, 2013
Dear Fellow Kenyan,
RE: KENYA DIASPORA CONFERENCE IN THE USA, 2013
The Kenya Embassy in Washington D.C., in collaboration with Kenya Diaspora in the USA, will host the third Diaspora conference in the D.C., Maryland, Virginia area on December 13-15, 2013. These dates are still tentative.
Previous Diaspora conferences were successful in brining Kenyan Americans and representatives of the Kenya government together to discuss critical issues on Kenya’s political transition, economic opportunities and the important role of the Diaspora in the nation’s development. The previous two conferences laid a foundation for future conferences and long term engagement between the Kenya government and the Diaspora community in the United States of America. As with previous years, future conferences will help consolidate the gains and achievements from engagements of this type.
The proposed theme for this year’s conference is “50 Fears onwards: Enhancing the role of the Diaspora in Kenya’s future Development.”
In view of the above, the Embassy invites you to join one of the following sub-committees to participate in the planning process of the Diaspora conference:
I. Registration and Documentation;
1 Protocol, Transport and Accommodation:
- 3. Programme:
- 4. Publicity and Communication;
- 5. Finance and Budget.
If interested, kindly email your response to email@example.com by August 16, 2013. On our website: www.kenyaembassy.com. kindly find a concept note and a working draft programme on the conference for your information. Additional information and flyers will be availed in due course.
