The 24-year-old has revealed she is perfectly happy to be a size 14-16 and does not worry about any unflattering comments.
Adele said: “I read a comment on YouTube that I thought would upset me — ‘Test pilot for pies’ — but I’ve always been fine with it. I would only lose weight if it affected my health or sex life, which it doesn’t.â€
Earlier this year designer Karl Lagerfeld criticised her, saying: “She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice.â€
He later apologised for the remarks.
And singer Lady Gaga hit back at comments that she had gained weight by saying Adele was bigger than her.
The Grammy award-winning singer, who became a mum for the first time last month, talks about the issue in her book Adele: The Biography, published this week.
She also tells about her early years, the sacrifices made by her mother and her affection for love songs.
She says: “When I was a girl, I loved love songs, the ones about horrible relationships. Ones that made you cry.â€
But Adele, who lives with boyfriend Simon Konecki, 38, fails to name the man who inspired bestselling album 21, just saying: “He was older, he was successful.â€
