The government has stripped 104 foreigners of Kenyan citizenship following questions on procedure used in issuing the documents.

Interior Principal Secretary Mutea Iringo said the affected persons will be informed by tomorrow- Friday.

“This is part of ongoing audit in the ministry to correct mes created over years by corrupt officials, we intend to reform the  Kenya Citizen and Foreign National Management Agency to enable it perform its duties,”  he said.

The PS however said the reform agenda has been affected because of poor funding.

He spoke at a meeting of senior officials in his ministry to review their performance since 2010.

Iringo added that the government has issued more than 8000 work permits to foreigners this year and registered more than 17,000 aliens. “Only technical personnel will be issued with work permits in the country,” he added.
