Copy Cat Ltd has stepped up the scramble for top IT graduates from local universities with its graduate management trainee program targeting 100 trainees by 2015.
The programme launched early this month is aimed at equipping the graduates with practical skills in computer hardware and software that meet the industry demands.
The firm joins other IT firms such as Safaricom, Telkom Kenya and Airtel that have similar management trainee programs aimed at aligning what the graduates learnt in college and the market needs.
Copy Cat has recruited seven graduates for the 2013 program and whom it says it will be absorbed in its various offices in Kenya Uganda, Tanzania or Ethiopia upon completion of the one year training.
â€œOne of the unique feature of the programme is the deployment of the trainees to various stations and countries that the Copy Cat Ltd has offices,â€ Nazir Noordin, Copy Cat Ltd managing director said.
â€œThe programme is designed to identify and recruit bright young talents in the IT field from local universities with an objective of exposing them to hands-on training.â€
The Copy Cat Group Ltd boasts of over 800 employees in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Ethiopia with over 350 of the staff being IT trained and certified experts in CISCO, HP, Oracle, Symantec, VM Ware and Office Automation.
