British Fire service warns frisky couples to use handcuffs wisely after rise in 999 calls

SEX TOYSBONDAGE EQUIPMENT ON SALE AT AN ANN SUMMERS SEX SHOP.HThe London Fire Brigade has urged frisky couples to think carefully before engaging is risqué sexual play after the number of people getting trapped in objects such as handcuffs was shown to have risen over the last three years.

The fire service said those choosing to use restraints should ‘keep the keys to hand’ in order to avoid having to place a 999 call.

It said it had been called out to 79 incidences in the past three years of people misplacing their key after using handcuffs in games that could have been inspired by a sexy novel.

Firefighter Dave Brown said: ‘I don’t know whether it’s the Fifty Shades of Grey effect, but the number of incidents involving items like handcuffs seems to have gone up.

‘I’m sure most people will be Fifty Shades of red when our crews arrive.’

As well as having to deal with embarrassed couples, the fire service has also had to contend with more than 1,300 episodes of people getting stuck in household appliances.

This includes men who got their penises trapped in toasters and vacuum cleaners.

Worried parents were also the source of a number of calls regarding children who had got their heads caught in training potties or toilet seats.

Although some of the incidents may seem amusing, officer Brown stressed the importance of using resources correctly after the fire service revealed the bill for the strange calls came up to £377,000.

He added: ‘I’d like to remind everyone that 999 is an emergency number and should only be used as such.

‘When firefighters are out attending to some of these avoidable incidents, someone else could be in real need of emergency assistance.’
