Woman, 50, is charged with murder of 27-year-old man who had his penis hacked off and left on the mantelpiece of home in leafy Dublin suburb

Grace Miano, 50

A woman has been charged with murdering a man before hacking off his penis and his eyelids and leaving them on the mantle piece.

The victim, named locally as Limbani Mzoma, who also went by the name Robert, was found in a pool of his own blood at a house on a leafy estate in the Irish capital on Thursday.

He was found with his penis and eyelids removed inside a house on Dublin’s quiet Foxrock housing estate Tudor Lawns.

Grace Miano, 50, who lives at the address where he was found, was today charged with his murder.
She smiled and waved at reporters outside a special sitting of Dublin District Court this morning, reports The Sun.

Ms Miano, who is originally from Kenya, requested medical and psychiatric help and was granted legal aid.

She complained of pain in her head and legs during her time in custody.

A source at the scene of the crime on Thursday told Dublin Live: ‘The scene is in a house where a number of non nationals have been living.

‘There has been a lot of trouble at the property and gardai were called there on Thursday afternoon.’

‘They dealt with a public order incident and left when they were called back at 11.30pm they discovered the dead man dead.

‘The severed penis was found on top of the fireplace and they also chopped off his eye lids.’

The estate where the horror happened is a leafy estate of expensive mock tudor houses – there is a large, well kept green area, and a private parking attendant.
It is near the Leapordstown Racecourse and is a well known affluent area – senior gardai including Assistant Commissioner Pat Leahy attended the scene.

Tudor Lawn residents were in deep shock yesterday and were too afraid to give their names when they spoke to Dublin Live.

One elderly woman, living a few doors from the scene, said that there had been a lot of trouble at the house.

Garda released a statement yesterday and appealed for witnesses.

A spokesman said: ‘Gardaí investigating the circumstances of the discovery of the body of a man in a house at Tudor Lawns, Foxrock have made an arrest.

‘A woman (40s) has been arrested in relation to this investigation and is currently detained at Dun Laoghaire under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.’

HORROR KILL THEORY Murdered Malawian man had genitals hacked off ‘over stolen mobile phone’ as victim Limbani Mzoma pictured

Limbani Mzoma, 27

A MURDERED Malawian man may have had his genitals hacked off over a stolen mobile phone, cops believe.

Limbani ‘Robert’ Mzoma, aged in his 20s, bled to death following a horrifying attack at a house in Tudor Lawn, Foxrock in Dublin at around 11.30pm on Thursday night.

A female suspect, in her 40s, is expected to appear before Dublin District Court at 9.30am this morning to be charged in connection with the case.

The circumstances surrounding Limbani’s murder remain a mystery, but cops probing the gruesome incident believe one theory may be he was butchered over a stolen iPhone.

It also emerged yesterday that his genitals were removed and placed on the fireplace, while his eyelids were also severed.

A source said: “This was obviously a particulary gruesome murder.

“It’s a baffling case and there are a number of theories. But at the moment the main line of enquiry is that this man was killed over a stolen iPhone.” After hearing about the killing, the victim’s father, Ambrose Mzoma, said: “I’m in shock at the moment. It’s too sad for me and for all of the family. It is too much.

“I cannot believe that has happened. He was a brave, courageous young man. He was very friendly to anyone he met.”

According to his dad, Limbani had been living in Ireland since 2013 and was due to return home next year.

A group representing Malawian nationals here said they plan to raise funds for the bereaved family.

Mike Kadango, chairperson of the Association of Malawians in Ireland, said: “It is extremely sad what has happened. It is a terrible tragedy. Our community here has really been hit hard. It is very tragic that a young man has lost his life.

“I didn’t know him personally, but we are working towards gathering more information so we can facilitate the family after the post mortem. We want to help the family in whatever way we can and we hope to work with them. We are planning a gathering to say prayers for him. We are also planning some form of contributions from the Malawian community in Ireland to try and help the family however we can.

“At the moment I don’t know whether he is to return to Malawi — I can’t say anything about that right now, I don’t know.

Grace Miano, 50 (pictured arriving at court in Dublin today) who lives at the address where he was victim found, was today charged with his murder

“We are waiting to hear what the family plans and then help in whatever way we can.”

This is not the first time a Malawian national has been the victim of a gruesome murder in Ireland.

In February 2012, the body of Rudo Mawere, was found stuffed in a suitcase in Dublin.

The 26-year-old business student had been living in Ireland for two years when her body was discovered on Blackhorse Avenue in Stoneybatter.

The main suspect for her murder was a Zimbabwean man who she was in a relationship with at the time of her death. It’s believed he dumped the bag after hearing sirens nearby and then ran into the Phoenix Park.

The following week, he was found hanged in a wooded area in Kent, England.

A suicide note was found at the scene confessing to the murder.

Mr Kadango remarked: “It is really devastating. It is not the first time our community has suffered this sort of event in Ireland.

“I remember a few years ago that a girl from Malawi was found in a suitcase in Dublin.
“This is really shocking. It is really tragic that a man who came to Ireland to better his life has had it taken away from him.

“It is very sad that his life has just been ended. I feel so sorry for his family”.
